The following indicators are part of the Central Bank of Chile’s “Experimental Statistics” project, which compiles and publishes statistics that are still under development or refinement. As a result, the published series may be subject to significant revisions. These statistics are innovative in terms of their data sources, statistical methods and/or fields of study. Experimental Statistics also aim to shorten the statistical production cycle and gather user feedback at an early stage of development.

Business Demography (DAE)

The Annual Business demography (DAE) is compiled from administrative records on sales (F29 and F22) and employees (DJ1887) of the Internal Revenue Service (SII). Using this information, firms with sales and/or employees are identified and then classified by region, economic activity (excluding public-sector activities) and size (based on sales and employment). The Central Bank of Chile receives this information under a collaboration agreement in force with the SII.

The DAE is updated annually, on the last business day of November.
