The following indicators are part of the Central Bank of Chile’s “Experimental Statistics” project, which compiles and publishes statistics that are still under development or refinement. As a result, the published series may be subject to significant revisions. These statistics are innovative in terms of their data sources, statistical methods and/or fields of study. Experimental Statistics also aim to shorten the statistical production cycle and gather user feedback at an early stage of development.

Business Dynamics Indicators (IDE)

The Business Dynamics Indicators (IDE) Using Administrative Records are compiled using information from Form 29 of the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (SII), which contains the monthly tax returns of legal entities operating in Chile. These records are used to identify firms with positive sales, which are then classified by economic activity (excluding financial and public-sector activities) and size stratum. The Central Bank of Chile receives this information monthly under a cooperation agreement currently in force with the SII.

This indicator is updated once a month, on the 5th (or the next business day), and includes data with a 65-day lag.
