Experimental Statistics
The following indicators are part of the Central Bank of Chile’s “Experimental Statistics” project, which compiles and publishes statistics that are still under development or refinement. As a result, the published series may be subject to significant revisions. These statistics are innovative in terms of their data sources, statistical methods and/or fields of study. Experimental Statistics also aim to shorten the statistical production cycle and gather user feedback at an early stage of development.
Housing Market Value (VMV)
The Housing Market Value (VMV) is an indicator compiled from anonymized administrative records of the Internal Revenue Service (SII) that seeks to decompose the value of the country's residential properties into land and building components. This indicator complements the analysis of Chile's real estate sector by providing a market-price valuation of the housing stock.
The VMV is compiled by the BCCh based on SII information. It is published annually, on the last business day of August.
