People
The Central Bank of Chile is composed of 667 people, including professionals, technicians and administrative staff from various areas. Its highest authority is the Board, which directs and manages the Bank, and takes decisions on monetary policy and financial and exchange regulation.
The Bank’s structure also includes the Senior Management, made up of the General Manager, General Counsel, General Auditor, seven Division Directors and 22 Area Managers.
The General Manager is responsible for the immediate management and supervision of the Bank, with the powers and instructions given to him by the Board. He directs the Corporate Risk and Human Resources Managers.
The General Counsel is essentially responsible for overseeing the legality of the institution’s agreements, resolutions and contracts, safeguarding the Bank’s actions from legal risk.
The General Auditor is responsible for the internal inspection and oversight of the Bank’s accounts, operations and management standards.
