Biography

JOSE MIGUEL VILLENA became the Manager of Statistical Information in March 2025.

He holds a degree in Engineering from the Universidad de Chile and an MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.

His professional career at the Central Bank of Chile spans several years, in the areas of international analysis, financial markets, international exchange operations and statistics. His contributions include the development of the Financial Market Infrastructure “Integrated Derivatives Information System (SIID-TR)”, which became operative in 2022.

He has participated in negotiations of free trade agreements and in different international working groups ALADI, BIS, CEMLA's Financial Information Forum and OTC Derivatives Regulator's Forum, among others, and has provided technical assistance to other central banks in Latin America.

Aside from his work at the Bank, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at Universidad de Santiago.
