Economic Policy Papers N° 53: Reflexiones sobre la Educación Financiera en Chile
Autor: Enrique Marshall
Description
Financial education has been drawing increasing attention in the field of public policy in virtually every country in the world. This paper elaborates on the factors behind this concern, including the massification of services and the lessons learned from the latest global financial crisis. I present evidence on the poor levels of financial education in Chile, while acknowledging that significant progress has been made in recent times. As for recommendations, I mention the need to adopt a realistic approach that complements financial education with action on other fronts.
