November 2019’s monthly index of economic activity, Imacec

 

According to preliminary information, last November the Imacec dropped 3.3% over the same month a year before. The seasonally-adjusted series increased 1.0% with respect to the previous month, and dropped 3.4% in twelve months. November 2019 came with the same number of working days as November 2018.

The mining Imacec dropped 5.1%, while the non-mining index dropped 3.1%, reflecting the performance of services and trade activity. Among services, the drops in education, transportation and restaurants & hotels stood out. This result was partially offset by increased construction and manufacturing activity. In seasonally-adjusted terms, and with respect to the previous month, the mining and non-mining Imacec increased 1.5% and 0.9%, respectively.
