This document summarizes a wealth of internal and external research on the historical behavior of inflation in Chile, its short and medium-term determinants, and the role of the monetary policy framework in determining inflation expectations.

The document, which is part of the Central Bank´s permanent research agenda, presents to a general audience stylized facts and analysis on relevant topics which will be a valuable input to a better understanding of the dynamics of inflation in Chile, and therefore will help in the conduct and analysis of monetary policy and the challenges it faces over time.

The publication of the document is supplemented by auxiliary material related to ongoing research at the Central Bank.
