The following indicators are part of the Central Bank of Chile’s “Experimental Statistics” project, which compiles and publishes statistics that are still under development or refinement. As a result, the published series may be subject to significant revisions. These statistics are innovative in terms of their data sources, statistical methods and/or fields of study. Experimental Statistics also aim to shorten the statistical production cycle and gather user feedback at an early stage of development.

Daily Retail Sales Index (DRSI)

The Daily Retail Sales Index (DRSI) is a nominal indicator compiled from administrative records of electronic receipts provided by the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (Servicio de Impuestos Internos, SII). Daily sales recorded through electronic receipts include all transactions between businesses and households, regardless of payment method or sales channel. To obtain consistent time series, the indicator is compiled from a sample of companies selected for the stability of their reporting.

This index is updated on the 23rd of each month (or the next business day) with data for the previous month.
