Biography

SILVIA QUINTARD FLEHAN was appointed General Auditor of the Central Bank on 11 January 2007.

She graduated as Accountant and Auditor from the University Diego Portales and has a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Laws with a mention in Business Law, both from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. In addition, she has the CRMA (Certification in Risk Management Assurance) certification from The Institute of Internal Auditors.

Prior to joining the Central Bank, Mrs Quintard worked in the Chilean financial sector. She was Comptroller of Corp Banca, where she had previously been in charge of the Logistics Division and Operational Management (bank and branches) of the Financial Operations and Internal Audit Management.

She also worked for the Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions, as part of a team assessing banking financial risk, and for Santander Group Chile´s Management Auditing Division for the Southern Cone.

Mrs Quintard is a member of the Central Bank Audit Committee organized by the Center for Latin American Monetary Studies (Cemla) where she has also spoken at annual conventions.
