Biography

CRISTIAN GONZALEZ Q. is the Manager of Accounting Management and Planning of the Central Bank of Chile since July 2020.

He is an Industrial Civil Engineer from Universidad de Santiago de Chile and holds a Master's degree in Financial Economics from the same university. He also holds a Master's degree in Management Control from Universidad de Chile.

He joined the Bank in February 2005 as a senior analyst with the International Treasury Department, where he led and implemented the International Reserves Administration System (SARI).

He also served as Group Leader of the Support and Control Desk of the International Investment Department, where he implemented the transition of SARI from the test-run phase to its normal operating regime. While in this position he also led the incorporation of the Sovereign Wealth Funds and the IFRS accounting standard into the system.

As from December 2010, he served as Head of the Operations Department of the Operations and Payment Systems Department, leading the registration and accounting processes of the Bank's financial operations, both domestic and international, including the Fiscal Agency portfolios. He led the development of the necessary mechanisms to ensure compliance with tax regulations in the different markets in which the Central Bank operates. He was also in charge of designing and implementing a solution to control and provide accounting records for the Sovereign Wealth Fund portfolios (fixed and variable income) during the first outsourcing cycle, among others.

From 2000 until joining the Bank, he worked in the private sector as Process Engineer for Banco de Crédito e Inversiones. Previously, he was Head of the Finance Department of the retail chain Foto Stereo.

Between 1997 and 2000 he worked as an advisor to the Finance Department of the Internal Revenue Service (SII), participating in the implementation of the ERP system (FIN 700), among other positions.
