From the regional perspective, the Regional GDP constitutes a geographical breakdown of GDP, according to the political-administrative division of the country. Thus, the Regional GDP records the added value of economic activities within each region, reflecting the different production structures present in them. Regional GDP is compiled from a production perspective and plays an important role in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of regional policies.
Regional GDP is compiled annually. Its revised version appears with a twenty-seven-month lag, its provisional version with a fifteen-month lag, and its preliminary version with an eight-month lag. The revised and provisional versions are published on March 18th, while the preliminary version is published on August 18th, or the following working day, as applicable.
De acuerdo con la información preliminar de las Cuentas Nacionales, durante el año 2025 el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) creció en catorce de las dieciséis regiones del país, aportando a la expansión de 2,5% de la economía nacional.
Por su parte, el consumo de los hogares aumentó en quince regiones, registrando una variación agregada de 2,7% en el país. Finalmente, las exportaciones de bienes y servicios anotaron un incremento de 4,6%, con alzas en doce regiones.
