2020 internship program application Ph.D and masters students

The Central Bank of Chile invites Chilean and foreign students who are pursuing a Ph.D. or Masters in Economics or Finance abroad to apply for an internship at the Bank during their Summer or Winter vacation in mid-2020. The internship should consider a deliverable to the Bank, which includes the organization of internal workshops or seminars, the provision of support on studies or research projects currently underway at the Bank and/or the development of specific projects related to the applicant’s doctoral thesis in issues of interest to the bank.
Priority will be given to students who are researching economic or financial issues related to the interest of the Central Bank of Chile.

Program conditions:

  • The internship will last from a minimum of one month to a maximum of three months.
  • The Bank will pay the round-trip airfare for the selected candidates.
  • Interns will receive a monthly stipend equivalent to the average level-seven salary in the Bank’s current remuneration structure.
  • Interns will be given lunch in the Bank’s cafeteria.
  • Selected candidates are required to carry health insurance during the period of their internship.
  • In the case of Ph.D. students who are currently receiving a scholarship from the Cental Bank of Chile, the Bank will only cover the airfare, lunch and coffee

  • An updated curriculum vitae.
  • A letter adressed to Ms. Marcela Pumarino Cruzat, Human Resources Manager of the Central Bank of Chile, indicating their area of interest and activities that will be developed in the internship, and must describe their reasons for wanting to work at the Bank.
