CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – 2^nd SEMESTER 2024/1^ST SEMESTER 2025

The Economic Research Department of the Central Bank of Chile invites applications for the Visiting Scholars Program in macroeconomics, monetary economics, international economics and finance, financial stability and other areas of interests for the Bank.

Duration

Visits usually last one week although longer durations of two or three weeks will be given full consideration.

Timing

Visits are expected to take place between the second half of 2024 and first half of 2025.

Scope of applicants

We welcome applications from researchers in academia and policy institutions. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Economics or Finance. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven record of publications in the Bank´s areas of interest.

Funding and accommodation

We cover or reimburse a round-trip coach class airfare, accommodation, and offer a stipend of 100 dollars per day to cover food and transportation expenses during the actual visit (days physically going to the Bank).

What we expect you to do

We encourage visiting scholars to fully participate in the life of the Economic Research Department, attend seminars, workshops and other activities and events that take place during the visit. Visiting scholars also are expected to present their own work in a seminar, and to submit a paper of their research agenda to the Working Paper Series of the Central Bank of Chile (which does not conflict with any later submission to a peer-reviewed journal).

We provide Visiting Scholars access to Economic Research Department facilities.
