The Conference on Nature and the Macroeconomy is an international event designed to bring together leading academics, policymakers, and experts working at the frontier of macroeconomic, financial, monetary, climate, and biodiversity-related analysis. The conference aims to provide a forum for discussing the main challenges, methodological advances, and policy implications arising from the growing recognition that nature degradation, biodiversity loss, and climate change can have significant macro-financial consequences.

The program is structured around a series of paper sessions and policy discussions exploring the macroeconomic dimensions of nature-related risks and environmental change. Topics include the links between consumer spending, price stability and monetary policy, the macroeconomic implications of critical minerals, the effects of natural disasters on firms and financial intermediation, and the economic consequences of deforestation, ecosystem degradation, and biodiversity loss.

Justin Johnson (University of Minnesota) will be the keynote speaker of the conference.
