Biography

CAROLINA BESA MONTES is the Public Affairs Manager of the Central Bank of Chile since December 2018. 

Formerly, she was Head of the Extension and Public Relations Department of the Institutional Affairs Management (2009–2018) and, previously she had been in charge of the Extension and Culture Area of the former Communications Management of the Central Bank (2004–2009).

Ms. Besa holds a BA in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (1995); she graduated in Cultural Management and Administration from the School of Arts of the University of Chile in1999; and got a degree in Cultural Administration from the Institute of Aesthetics and School of Administration of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (1997).

Before working for the Central Bank, she was assistant in the Education Area Team of the Public Studies Center (CEP) (1996); Manager of Academic Extension at the Extension Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (1997–2000); Communications Manager at the Painted Bodies Experimental Workshop Project (2001); assistant at an education project at the University of Development (2002); and assistant to the Executive Director of the Pablo Neruda Foundation, for projects related to the poet's Centennial (2004).
