Biography

MAURICIO CALANI has been Financial Research Manager at the Central Bank of Chile since September 2025.

He holds a degree in economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, United States. Prior to his appointment, he was Head of the Macrofinancial Modeling Department, which reports to the Financial Research Division.

Mr. Calani has over 15 years of professional experience, during which he has held various positions in research areas at the Central Bank and has authored numerous academic articles and book chapters on macrofinancial topics.
