Description

This study describes the Economic Expectations Survey (EES), which since 2000 has been applied on a monthly basis by the Central Bank of Chile. Early on, several changes were made to the questionnaire, but apart form some minor modifications, the present form has been utilized since November 2004. The EES focuses on a selected group of academics, consultants and executives or advisors in the private sector. The answers serve to evaluate expectations of running horizons (e.g., 12 months ahead) and fixed moments in time (e.g., December the current year). During the 2000-2009 period, on average 35 persons have answered the questionnaire each month. This document presents a summary of the results comparing them with the published numbers.
