Journal Economía Chilena

Journal Economía Chilena (The Chilean Economy)

Portada Revista Economía Chilena

The purpose of the Central Bank of Chile’s journal ECONOMÍA CHILENA is to contribute to the dissemination of results from research on the Chilean economy or matters that affect it, with significant content of empirical evidence or elements that shape the conduct of monetary policy. Areas of interest include macroeconomics, finance and economic development. The journal is produced at the Bank’s Research Division and has an independent editorial committee.

Its main target are authorities and technical groups in charge of economic policy making, entrepreneurs and private business administrators in the financial and manufacturing sectors, together with national and foreign analysts who study the Chilean economy. It is published three times per year, in the months of April, August and December.

Each issue has five sections. The first contains abstracts of the published papers in both Spanish and English. The second presents the papers, each one reviewed by two anonymous referees. Research notes come next, written by economists of the Central Bank of Chile, and also peer-reviewed. Then follow two book reviews of works recently published in Chile or abroad that are important for public policy in general and Central Bank policies in particular. The last section lists research about the Chilean economy that have been recently published in journals, books or working papers around the world, with a summary of a selection of them.

The contents of ECONOMÍA CHILENA, as well as any analysis and conclusions stemming from them are the exclusive responsibility of their authors. As a journal contributing to academic research, opinions expressed in it do not necessarily reflect those of the Board of the Central Bank of Chile.
