Indexation, Inflation and Monetary Policy

The International Conference of the Central Bank of Chile provides a forum for discussion, with a policy emphasis, of a topic of relevance to the Central Bank of Chile. The Conference is targeted to a broad audience of academics, policy-makers, market participants, and observers of the Chilean and other Latin American economies.

The topic of the 1997 International Conference is "Indexation, Inflation and Monetary Policy". The purpose of the Conference is to better understand the process of inflation in indexed and non-indexed economies, the adoption of policy changes in support of de-indexation, and the conduct of monetary policy in support of reaching international levels of inflation.
