Size: 145 x 70 mm.
Paper: White, similar to that used on other bills in circulation.
Watermark: Located to the left on the front and to the right on the back, no printing over it. It includes the portrait of Andrés Bello facing the center of the banknote.
Security Strip: Vertical and located to the left of the main motif on the front and spanning the entire length of the banknote, micro printing repeats the words "VEINTE MIL" (twenty thousand) runs throughout.
Motivo Coincidente: Located to the left of the central motif on the front and to the right of the central motif on the back, this is a matching image, consisting of a book, an ink well and quill, this last surrounded by two laurel wreaths.
Iridescent Strip: Located to the left of center on the front, it shines differently depending on the angle of the banknote. The number 20000 is repeated along its full length.
Colors:

Different shades of green, blue, reddish brown, ochre and orange.

Printing Process: Offset, Intaglio and Typography
Tactile marks for the visually impaired: Located on the front on the left-hand side of the non-printed strip of the watermark. It consists of a circle, with a perimeter that is thick and bulky enough to be detected upon touching.
Latent image: Located on the front in the lower right-hand inside a rosette. Made up of a series of lines that create the letters B and C, seen as light or dark print, depending on the viewing angle of the onlooker.
Obverse:

The main motif is a portrait of Andrés Bello located to the right. An engraving inspired by the friezes on the facade of the main courts of Justice (Palacio de los Tribunales de Justicia) in Santiago appears in the center. On the top left-hand corner the title "BANCO CENTRAL DE CHILE" appears on one line. Underneath is the front-back matching motif. The number "20000" appears on the lower left corner while the number "20" appears in the top right-hand corner in letters of optically varying colors with the words "MIL PESOS" (thousand pesos) underneath.The words "VEINTE MIL PESOS" (twenty thousand pesos) appear in white on the bottom edge. Above this, a strip of micro printing repeats the words "VEINTE MIL PESOS" (twenty thousand pesos).The words "PRESIDENTE" (President) and "GERENTE GENERAL" (General Manager) appear below above the border, on left and right, respectively. These titles carry the respective signatures and the date of printing above them.The serial letters followed by 7 (seven) digits are printed in the upper left-hand corner, and duplicated in smaller print to the right of the portrait. The name "ANDRÉS BELLO L" appears on the lower left-hand corner. In the middle of the bottom edge the banknote may bear the imprint "CASA DE MONEDA DE CHILE". Otherwise it remains blank.The front includes arabesques made up of weaving lines, ornaments, multiform backgrounds and other security elements.

Reverse:

The main motif is an engraving of the main campus of the University of Chile.The number "20000" appears on the top left-hand corner and the title "BANCO CENTRAL DE CHILE" appears to the right on one line. An image of a circular seal showing part of the image of the Central Bank of Chile logo, notwithstanding Acuerdo N° 314-02-931014, appears in the lower left corner. The number "20" is on the lower left-hand corner, with the words "MIL PESOS" (thousand pesos) immediately below.The back includes arabesques, ornaments, multiform backgrounds and other security elements.
