Reproduction of banknote images


General criteria to regulate the reproduction of legal tender for educational purposes only and another specific ones.

Under Board Resolution N°1583-01-101213, published in the Official Gazette on January 5th, 2011, the Council of the Central Bank of Chile, as owner of the intellectual property rights over legal tender, authorized usage of the design of banknotes and coins for purposes of public use in partial reproductions that meet  the terms and conditions established in the above mentioned authorization  and other requirements established in the following text, pursuant clauses 1,4 and 6 of the referred Resolution.

Operating Regulations Rewritten

For information purposes, interested parties must notify the Central Bank of Chile in advance, the objective and purposes of the reproduction made and its characteristics via written communication or by writing to the email address imagenesbilletes@bcentral.cl.

In the same manner, submitted queries will be resolved by the General Manager, for which they can be sent in writing or e-mailed to the same email address, attaching the Enquiry Form / Application attached in Annex, which forms part of the Operating Regulations.
