SERGIO LEHMANN B. has been the Manager of International Analysis at the Central Bank of Chile since January 2001.

He has a degree in civil engineering (1991) and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Chile (1991). He also has a master’s degree and doctoral studies in Engineering-Economic Systems (1996), with a major in finance, risk management and economics, from the University of Stanford, United States.

Previously he worked as Head of the International Finance and Economics Department (1998-2000) and Senior Economist with the Financial Analysis management staff (1996-1998) of Central Bank of Chile. He has also worked as a researcher with Cieplan (1991-1994) and as a consultant for different companies and institutions such as the World Bank (1996).

Sergio Lehmann has taught at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Chile, since 1991, where he lectures on economics and finances. Currently he teaches financial management in the master’s program in company management at that university.

He has participated in several seminars and congresses in Chile and abroad, and published widely in journals such as Cieplan’s study collection and the Central Bank’s Economic journal. He has also prepared articles on the Chilean economy for Pacific Economic Outlook, published by the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council.
