Loans, Deposits and Investments

Banking statistics comprise information concerning placements, deposits, collection and investments. Placements are made up of the current balances of commercial, foreign trade, consumption and housing loans. Collection and deposits correspond to the savings of companies and individuals in the banking system. Investments represent banks’ holdings in financial instruments, such as mutual fund shares and bonds issued by residents and non-residents. The Bank Data Series breaks down the above information by institution.

This information enables to monitor the credit market and analyze the level of indebtedness of economic agents.
